I adore the fact that I seldom lay in bed at night
and not hear the train a coming,
the the siren like whistle alerting,
the flash of lightning, and im fifty years back in time.
It's an amazing feeling,
as I'm cradled and comforted
in the call of the train....
as I salute him as he calls out to me
My rest turns to nightfall
and time becomes sleep
in the palm of its image & call,
My old friend...the trains of my childhood
and adulthood alike... I salute &
and bid thee a gratefull goodnite..
