Tis I in The Lightning
by Rodney Evan Bohen

'Tis I In The Lightning

'Tis I in the lightning, striking so close to your heart
Catching your breath away, sweeping your heart
'Tis I in await, like a lion in heart heat
I am in the lightning striking close to your heart
I am the raindrop, you just felt kiss, touch your nose

I am Firefly and lightning dancing prancing in bright white lite pose
I chase hard after your heartbreath, candela my lite
I remain he yea, who whispers third watch long into the night
Sunshine, it is I, awaiting you at dawn,
Rainfall, Night glitter in one, such am I

I am lite dancing upon windswept strokes of lofty and tall
I glimmer in tribute to beauty great and small
Yet only your breath shall soothe the wild beast of my soul
Yet your hand shall tame him, all time this I've known
I have trampled battlefields, my name blows in the same blood stained wind

I am birdsong of morning, baby's breath at hot noon
I am waterfalls cascading, sundrops wet in afternoon
I shall paint you in sunshine, soft strokes never seen
All men shall desire, salute you, and want you the same,
Girls faint in wanton envy and dreamed wet shame

You are fresh wind whispering in dance upon lite
We are the very essence breath of our words wrapped upon parchment tight
A salute to our love, a tribute to bold
Through my words whispering eternally, your very beauty face and soul,
All men shall bow and know you, living on in time beyond all

Indian girl with tears, Indian Princess standing tall
Many names has she, yet only one true love who awaits by cliffed sea
I am lightning dancing, fired breath upon sea... hear me, see me now
I am Mr light Dancing awaiting thee, yea, I am in the lightning
That strikes close your heart this very night

I am in lightning racing streaking across the vast sea, yes, as always, eternally awaiting thee....

Tranquil Scintilla

Tranquil Scintilla

Yea, I have tasted her
Yet not drank have I to full
Of her bounty and grace
I have but known small sips
From her goblet gilded in peace

Peace, yea, I danced with her once
Upon marble, where curtsey met bow
And calm swallowed tumult
We danced in sway once
When youth dawned upon our cheeks in adorned attire

I gazed her valley lush green and good
And drank of her bounty
Yea death withstood
I as one, likened unto the wild ass of the desert
Did both draw and inhale her scent

I yes have known princesses
Have embraced on court floors
Have danced many a dirt jig
With peasant lass as well
From regal to common, my joy teased

I melt now as the ice does
When spring doth arrive
Peace measured out carefully
Modicum indeed
A grain strained by a gnat my portion to keep

Feeble now my crown
Futile my beam
Tranquility, Yes I knew once
And still, do yes, hold her
Tightly in my grasp, weak and lean.

To measure her greatness in the palm of my hand
One would need to measure the universe
Carefully upon bended knee
To understand well, the wealth I possess
That I yea, do grasp taut, in my palm of hand

'Tis my life and quest
That I squeeze tightly
Small spec I'll grant yes!
Nevertheless, let me say, 'tis all I possess
No more shall I say.

You really are a poet most actually... The format in which you write and the the description of emotion that you convey is stunning. These two pieces brought to me just how masterful your pen is...

"I glimmer in tribute to beauty great and small
Yet only your breath shall soothe the wild beast of my soul
Yet your hand shall tame him, all time this I've known
I have trampled battlefields, my name blows in the same blood stained wind "

^^ really incredible display of emotion...

"To measure her greatness in the palm of my hand
One would need to measure the universe
Carefully upon bended knee
To understand well, the wealth I possess
That I yea, do grasp taut, in my palm of hand"

The first part to this stanza... is awsome... Its simple and authoritive... and then you go on to poise a greatfulness or a thanks giving most couldn't conceive...

these are yet another two serious examples of your mastery Sir Bard... Thank you for shareing them with me...

Coo
I am always honored and humbled by your thoughtfull
comments, they encourage me sincerely.

Now if You are so inclined,
Id like to see some more of your pieces
as you feel so led...

I thought of compiling a book of my favorite verses
perhaps 40, who knows, Been thinking on it for
years, when I had the option to compile publish,
I should have accepted the offer, help etc,
I think the world will get on without them
I have them all at "Authors Den" they might live on there
You might enjoy the place, bu few offer honest critiques
or reviews lol, I find that an abomination Ha Ha.
It is a cheap place to store.

An old piece. was not intended as poetry
It was merely an expression in simple words.

Glimmering Hope Dimly Lit

Though the pillaging forces of darkness and fear assault and plunder my day and me, I shall not lose sight of the hopes and dreams awaiting me on the breath and dawn of the morrow.
Though none seem to know me, I shall console myself in the fact that my creator does.

When all the intake of my mind can inhale is dark, I shall be encouraged, knowing that dreams always ride on the face of the morrow.

I shall not collapse completely, for though I appear to be a Humpty Dumpty man, completely broken and spoiled beyond repair, I stand fast in the fact, that all the kings horses and all the kings men, can in fact put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

The fact that I am fifty, should not work against me I should think, for surely I have prevailed lo these many years, due to unmeasured grace extended.
Our genius lit, can only be veiled, when we seek to withdraw in fear, but in each moment that we stand up in courage, our wells and rivers of hope, perseverance and confidence, are rekindled.

We each were created, fashioned and spawned in intricate and woven excellence, all born in regal beauty, all worthy of the pursuit of love, hope and happiness.

Let not the pillaging shadow of today, steeped in fear, thwart our ability nor desire to walk into this day in splendor, for it is our courage spent and walk attempted that shall mark our excellence upon the dawn of tomorrow, not our success necessarily that shall be our grade given, and mark and testimonial.

For it is not how we finished the race that colors us in greatness, but rather how we ran it!

As long as our mission includes others, bred out of caring hearts, our walk shall always remain a noble one.

If you show them your heart, all men of value shall embrace it.

I could quote the entire peace... It's extremely powerful Sir Bard. I'd love to hear it spoke'n... I've read it about 12 times now... I'm at work and shuffleing between the floor and my office... It's slow out there... But yes... this is inspirational spirit... and it flows so freely from your pen... I really am moved by the love and truth here... these are words one can trust in for life times to come...

It has been your expressions in all there variety that embraced me, they keep me learning and wanting to learn as a means of mastering my own... At times they are identical to my thoughts and my own writeing...at times they absolutely empower and invigerate... Other times they are so humbleing and warm...eclipseing my own...towering if you will in ways that showcase how honed and polished your expression is... I never considered myself a poet in the ways of traditional poetry, that of the deceased that is taught in fine institutions, but I see value in the dicipline of such greats... As I see value in the dicipline of your poetry, the honesty of your heart, and the patience that has produced some of the finest and most honorable words I have been privy...no...graced to absord, and first hand. It is a real privledge to have you to read, and to have to share my own words with Sir Bard, and I mean that from the all of my heart. Tho I am like a tornado of words in my expression, and a hurricane of voice, there is much I am learning from you. Not only in the art of writeing, but in the valiance produced by patience and kinship. Comming to read a piece like this, to me, is like stareing into a pristine mountain spring, watching my reflection as I draw to it to drink, and Tho I am parched... and I am Parched... I will not rush to quench the aches and pains of dehydration...for to do so would dishonor the selflessness of what is give'n, and would pass the moment far to quickly for me to receive the all of such a gift.
Thank you Sir Bard... For there is much you do not know you do for a man such as myself... I can only hope to repay you...and if not you... to simply give for what time I have left in this world, and hope it lands where it will do the most...

Selah
